IRD Child support changes in July 2023

I think many of you are aware about the changes coming for child support in July 2023. Sole parent beneficiaries will be able to be paid the child support payments directly to them as from this month.

Just thought putting the below figures on here and to be looked at in 2024/2025. You will defintley see an huge increase of number of applications in the family court due to the child support payments changes. More false and fabricated allegations and more without notice applications.

In 2022, 59% of substantive Care of Children Act (excluding Hague) applications were filed without notice (9,236 applications).

In 2022, 41% of substantive Care of Children Act (excluding Hague) applications were filed on-notice (6,369 applications).
